The CHALLENGE
As world leader within digital camera imaging, Canon acquired Danish based software company Milestone Systems to enter fast and high growing network video surveillance (NVS) market.
The challenge was to balance the need for Milestone to remain a stand-alone business with a broad range of partnerships while realizing Canon’s ambition to become market-leader and establish a significant footprint in the emerging field of network video surveillance.
The solution
A structured approach was taken to secure effective strategy execution through structured management of all strategic M&A workstreams. This included establishing a transparent portfolio roadmap, developing reporting capabilities and progress overviews both toward Canon and Milestone executive teams, coaching and development of tool-box for strategic project managers, as well as facilitation to update the joint Milestone/Canon strategy.
